Tattoos see increase in popularity

It used to be that tattoos were meant for sailors, but not anymore! It is one of the biggest and fastest trends rising today.
But for some people it is still deemed not acceptable, and some even consider it to be “ruining” your body. Why!?
I love this up and coming popularity!
I myself have a few, and know what it is like to be criticized and judged. One day a year ago at my job, one lady took a look at my wrist that has the German word for twin on it and told me that I was a disgrace and that she didn’t want me to touch her groceries. It is so ridiculous, and at times like that, I don’t understand it.
Do those of us with ink on us judge others without it just because they have none? I don’t think so.
Now, more and more people are starting to accept it, and maybe even get some ink of their own. It is considered to be a form of art, and it is sacred to the beholder, whether is a memorial, a favorite quote, or even matching with friends and family. It makes you unique, and as an individual, beautiful, for every new ink you get has a special meaning to you.
The media has had a huge impact on the rise of tattoos as well. Celebrities, such as Angelina Jolie and Kat Von D, are famous almost for their many tattoos and they proudly show them off. So why shouldn’t they?
I think that all people should be able to express themselves in any way that they feel is most comfortable.     Even though tattoos are becoming increasingly acceptable, some people will stand their ground against it.
Don’t get upset, just always remember this: The tattoo is a mark of the soul. It can act as a window, through which we can see inside, or it can be a shield that can protect us from those who cannot see past the surface.
