IV Leader, Sept. 3, 2009
Road work begins
Resurfacing of the Richard Moyle Sr. Highway (the Oglesby spur) may cause students some delays in getting to classes the next three weeks.
The city of Oglesby informed IVCC the resurfacing project would begin the week of Aug. 31.
Richard Moyle Highway goes between the city and Route 251. During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane.
This adds another roadblock for students getting to the college.
The Route 251 bridge to Peru will remain closed for painting until October in an Illinois Department of Transportation project.
Nursing intent letters due
Nursing Letters of Intent for the Fall 2010 Nursing Program are available now through Dec. 1.
Students may only submit a letter for either the RN or the LPN program—they can not apply for both.
Students are encouraged to attend a Nursing Information Session and meet with a counselor to determine which program is the best choice.
Nursing meeting scheduled
The next Nursing Information Session will be Sept. 30 at 5:30 pm in F114. Interested students should call 815-224-0439 to reserve a place.
Spring registration dates set
Heads up for registration: Spring 2010 registration will begin online only Oct. 26, in person Oct. 27, and by phone/fax/mail on Oct. 28.
Admissions director Tracy Morris advises that some classes fill up quickly—so be prepared.
It is recommended that students schedule their counseling appointments now in order to set up their classes in order to be prepared for the first day of registration.
The Learning Commons in D201 can assist students with setting up their WebAdvisor account and password.
Fall graduation deadline set
The deadline to apply for Fall graduation is Oct. 1.
Forms are available in the Admissions & Records Office in C-210 or on the Web site at ivcc.edu. There is no fee to apply.
Students are required to apply for graduation in order to have their degree/certificate posted to their academic record, even if they are not planning on participating in the commencement ceremony on May 21, 2010.
Commencement information will be sent out to all Fall 2009 gRAduates at the end of February 2010.
