Illinois Valley Community College sophomore Run Jin You, a native of Fuzhou, China, was one of just six students chosen from across the state for a $1,000 scholarship from the Illinois Community College Faculty Association.
You, now living in Princeton, was selected based on her academic achievement and volunteer community service. She received the honor Oct. 9 at the ICCFA Teaching and Learning Conference in Springfield.
You will transfer to Northern Illinois University next fall to pursue an accounting major. She was also a 2009 IVCC Foundation 21st Century Scholars Society recipient, and won scholarships from the Illinois Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and Tri-County Opportunities Council.
