The women’s tennis team won its first match of the season
Aug. 28 with a 7-2 victory over McHenry.
IVCC emerged victorious in five of six singles matches and
two of the three doubles matches that were played at Hegeler Park in La Salle.
Megan Pyszka, Kelsey DeWalt, Jill Crull and Kayla Samolinski
all won singles. In addition, another win was picked up by the No. 2 doubles
team of Samantha Carlson and DeWalt. DeWalt is the only freshman on the Eagles
squad.
The IVCC women’s tennis team, which is coached by Bonnie
Peterson, plays its home matches in La Salle since the tennis courts at IVCC are
unplayable.
The team will have another home contest on Sept. 19 vs. Lake
County. The season wraps up in early October with a regional tournament at
Moraine Valley.
