Registration Tips for Spring Semester '09
Many students are unsure as to what should be done before the spring semester of '09. Here are some tips from IVCC’s counselors:
- Make sure your grades and assignments are in order during the fall semester. This way instead of not upgrading classes in the spring, you can move forward. Another thing is to look over a guide sheet, which are in the counseling center, before your appointment, so you know what is expected"
- Appointments should have been made when the student registered for classes for the fall semester. Counselors can still be seen but not until after registration which is on Nov. 3. There are also limited walk-ins on a daily basis.
- If transferring, get on the universities' web site or their department web site to give IVCC counselors an idea of where you’re going. Don't forget to make contact with an advisor that goes there. It is your responsibility to find out the transfer dates for applications, financial aid, housing, etc.
- Explore on Web Advisor before your appointment. Plan ahead so it is easier to find the classes and credits you need. Also, register early!
