Women’s tennis drops first match

Sept. 13, 2007

    The women’s tennis team got a rough start to the season, losing a match against Moraine Valley on Sept. 5.
    Moraine captured the match 7-0, by winning four of the singles matches and three doubles matches. Three other singles matches were rained out.
    IVCC’s No. 1 singles player, Meghan Pyszka, No. 5 Kaitlin Liesse and No. 6 Cynthia Blomquist were each defeated in two sets, with No. 7 Kayla Samolinski losing in a one-set match.
    Games started by Rachel Hoffman, Maureen McGill and Jill Crull were rained out in the first set.
    This year’s team includes Pyszka, Samolinski, Liesse and Hoffman from La Salle-Peru, Blomquist and Samantha Carlson from St. Bede, Crull from Henry-Senachwine and McGill from Mendota.
