IVCC Chorale begins rehearsals

Illinois Valley Community College's Chorale has begun rehearsal for the fall semester and is preparing music for its annual Winter Carnival performance with a theme of Christmas traditions throughout the ages.
In this production the Chorale will sing from Madrigals, Victorian carols and mid-20th century popular holiday songs in costume from those eras.
Students and community members interested in joining the chorus are invited to attend rehearsals Monday evenings in August or September from 6-8 p.m. along with additional rehearsals the week before the performance.
The Winter Carnival performance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 in the IVCC Cultural Centre. All community members are welcome.
The choir is free and open to anyone in the IVCC district who enjoys singing.
Rehearsals are held on Mondays 6-8 p.m. in Room D223. For more information contact Choral Music and Theatre professor Norm Engstrom at 815-224-0279.
