Flag football begins

The intramural flag football season is under way at IVCC.
Eric Schroeder, who is involved with the organization of the sport, said that 10 teams and a total of 100 students have signed up to play this season.
Organizers are “very pleased to see so many students sign up for flag football,” and they “would like even more [participants] for next season.”
The good team turnout promises to make this season an exciting one. Teams play their games in the open field between the main buildings and the East Campus parking lot. Games are played every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. Two matches are played each game day; one game is refereed by Schroeder, and a volunteer officiates at the other.
According to Schroeder, the season will run for five weeks with a post season to follow. At the end of the five week regular season, all the teams will be seeded by their records for the single elimination playoff tournament.
