Jazz Band performance set
    The Illinois Valley Community College will be playing Oct. 6 for the La Salle Jazz Festival from 3-5 p.m. on East First Street, La Salle.

‘Fright Night Film Festival’
    River Currents and the Student Government Association are in the works of bringing a Halloween “Fright Night Film Festival” to IVCC because of previous success of a similar event in 2005.On Tuesday, Oct. 30 two horror movies will be shown on campus. There will also be games, food and a costume contest with prizes!
    Movies, specific time, costume contest prizes and place are TBA. For information, contact SGA members in their office off the cafeteria or River Currents advisor Yelena Kajevic.

‘Dracula Baby’ to premiere
    The “Dracula Baby” musical will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. at $8 for general admission and free for those with an IVCC ID.
    The musical will continue with performances on Oct. 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. and a final performance on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.
    All performances will be in the IVCC Cultural Center.
    “Dracula Baby” is a musical/farcical retelling of the classic Dracula story.
    Theater instructor David Kuester is the director for the show. A number of IVCC students have been cast for the performance.
