Men’s basketball has gotten underway at Illinois Valley
Community College with the team hosting the 5th annual IVCC Juco Jamboree on
Oct. 9th and traveling to Iowa City for the Impact Juco Jamboree on the 14th.
IVCC hosted fifteen teams for three games apiece.
Athletic director Mike Riley said that approximately fifty
four-year university athletics personnel and scouts came to the event to look at
players for recruitment.
In addition, approximately ten recruiting/scouting services
came to the games as well. Riley said that the event went “really well” with the
Eagles showcasing their individual skills as well as playing “some good ‘D.’”
A few scouts that Riley spoke to said that the Eagles could
be one of the top teams in the conference.
The season officially starts on Nov. 4th against North Iowa
Area Community College and the first home game will be on the 9th against South
Suburban.
