Parking violators, beware of campus towing policy

I noticed a tow truck in the student parking lot on Sept.
26.
I was surprised due to the fact that I have gone to IVCC for
almost three years and have never seen such a thing. The student offender was
parked in the striped lines and wanted to know why she couldn't just have a
warning.
I noticed that she was crying and making a big deal over the
situation. This year it seems as if security is cracking down hard on parking
violators.
Ken Sangston, director of Safety Services, said there would
be a fine line between when to give tickets and when to start towing, such as in
the Sept. 26 situation.
The students know it is wrong to park in those areas in the
first place, so they all know that they are taking a risk by doing it. Sangston
also said that all of the rules are posted in IVCC’s handbook.
The question is, how many people actually read the handbooks
about safety? I know I don't. So next time you are running late for a class and
see a no parking area, maybe you should ask yourself if it is worth getting
towed before you park there!
