‘Employee of the Month’ misses good punch line

“Employee of the Month,” staring Dane Cook, Jessica
Simpson, Dax Shepard and Andy Dick, was not what I thought it would be.
The first problem it had was that all of the good jokes were
shown on the commercials for the movie. The rest of the jokes in the movie were
from about five years ago and cannot get any more laughs squeezed out of them.
Then, just as I thought it was an okay movie, I realized that
it just wouldn’t end! It kept going to the point that I couldn’t wait for it to
be over.
During the entire movie, you could guess what was going to
happen. For those of you who have seen “She’s All That” then you know exactly
how things are going to turn out in the end. Also, the actors may be well-known,
but they just weren’t very good in this movie.
While Dane Cook was an okay actor, he looked about 55 years
old, when in reality, he is only 34. Jessica Simpson, also known by many, is an
awful actress. She should have learned better than to act after she did “Dukes
of Hazard,” but she just had to try again. And big surprise… she blew it! Along
with them, Andy Dick needs to learn how to play a different type of character.
Every movie we see him in, he plays the same sort of person. Quite frankly, I’m
tired of the same boring character he plays.
Although this movie had a good back-story, cute, romantic
scenes, and a happy ending, it wasn’t all that it could have been. Many scenes
could have been cut, many jokes could have been updated and many movie clichés
should have been changed.
I would not recommend this movie and I only give it 2 stars.
