A Bowl-d Prediction
By Justin “The nuT” Boroski

Well kids, another college football season has come and
almost gone. Yes, there are still a few games left this year leaving two
unbeaten teams to fend for a national title (if Texas wins the Big 12, which is
more than likely).
Also, this brings an end to my time as a writer for the IV
Leader. True, you will all miss my goofy looking picture above all of my
columns, but I will not leave without a column for you all to think about.
The college football regular season comes to an official end
after this week’s conference championship games, which leads me to my final
article, a prediction of who will be each conference’s champions.
Note, these predictions were made on November 29. Remember
that because these games will be over when you read it.
I shall begin with the MAC championship in Detroit with a match-up between our
Northern Illinois Huskies (7-4) and the Zips of Akron (6-5). If you all recall
Akron took down an injury-plagued NIU earlier this season with a 48-42 home
victory. I cannot believe that Akron is a better team than NIU so my prediction
for this game is NIU by 10.
Moving on the Conference USA title game between the Central
Florida Golden Knights (8-3) versus the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes (7-4), this game
is going to be competitive between two small Division-I schools, but I will
predict Tulsa by 3.
Next, we have the Big 12 title between the Colorado Buffalos
(7-4) and the Gods of Texas (11-0), otherwise known as the Longhorns. Yeah, if
anyone thinks that Colorado has a fighting chance then more power to them. I
personally will go with Texas by 20.
And now to my favorite, and one of the most competitive
conferences in the NCAA, the Southeastern Conference, with a match-up of my team
the Georgia Bulldogs (9-2) and the LSU Tigers (10-1). Now, I might be biased,
but I will pick my Bulldogs by 3 because, well I’m biased and you all have to
just deal with it.
Finally, the Atlantic Coast Conference with a battle between
the Florida State Seminoles (7-4) and the Virginia Tech Hokies (10-1). Now they
say Marcus Vick is a better quarterback than his brother Mike, well they are
right and in this game he will show just how good he is by pounding Boston
College by about 20. Sure it’s a bold prediction with Boston College being a
fairly decent team, but hey, that is why it’s a prediction.
And to sign off I will leave you with one more bold
prediction for the national title game…Texas by 10.
