Juletta Patrick has been named the new Dean of Student Development at IVCC.
She came to IVCC from Northern Illinois University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and now is currently working on her doctorate in education administration.
She currently is living in DeKalb with her husband William and her two daughters, Courtney and Brittany. She found out about IVCC through others in her department and NIU and on our website www.ivcc.edu.
Patrick said she “would like to do some type of assessment survey for the students to give input on what they want to have here on campus.”
Her main goals for the students are to make then happy by planning events they would want to participate in.
The reason why she chose IVCC was because she admires the way community colleges operate in comparison to big universities. The closeness of the instructors and staff to students in the community colleges caught her eye when choosing this job, she said.
She had been looking at IVCC’s Web site a long time before this position was even offered.
She said she liked the campus, the way it looks and the size of the population
She said the staff, instructors and students have been considerate and welcoming in the upcoming years she hopes that she will be able to help make a difference with the students on campus.
