Mattison plans 10-day summer trip to Thailand

Merri Mattison, instructor of sociology and anthropology, will be traveling to Thailand this summer.
This 10-day educational trip to the Orient is in part being paid for by International Education.
Among the many adventures planned, Mattison will spend time in Bangkok, visit ancient ruins in Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol and in Sukhothail Historical Park, and visit the hill tribe community at Ban Lorcha.
Of course, what trip to Thailand would be complete without riding an elephant or two? Be watching for photos of that adventure.
This is the second trip to Asia for Mattison. She previously spent a year teaching in Korea.
Mattison has been an instructor at Illinois Valley Community College since 2001.
