Annual job fair scheduled for April 15
Feb. 26, 2004
"It's ALL About Jobs: Job Fair 2004," IVCC's annual job fair, will be Thursday, April 15 in the IVCC Gymnasium. The hours for the fair are noon to 6 p.m.
"Each year approximately 50 employers representing the service and manufacturing industries and nearly 600 job seekers participate in the event," said Sharon Barthelemy, coordinator of IVCC's Career Services, and lead organizer for Job Fair 2004. "We've had early interest on the part of employers for this year's Job Fair, so I'm optimistic that the Job Fair will produce some valuable opportunities for job seekers from IVCC and the broader community."
As registrations come in, the attending employers' names are added to the Career Services web page: www.ivcc.edu/cs. The Career Services site contains a wide variety of tips for attending the job fair, and pre job fair workshops are taking place on campus and in other community locations throughout February and March.
"All job seekers should plan on attending the fair and be prepared to discuss your qualifications, skills and experience. It is really important to dress in interview attire, and to have a resume to give to employers," Barthelemy said.
