‘Books Not Bombs’ offered

“Books Not Bombs” will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4 in the IVCC lobby.
People of the World to End Racism, a student group, will be joining with the National Youth and Student Peace Coalition in a campaign to draw attention to concerns about the funding on education and health care.
“The U.S. government is slowly stripping away the American people's civil liberties under the name of homeland security. We need to spend less money on war and more on educating our children in an attempt to have a future of peace,” said IVCC POWER member Chris Budnick.
Nearly a year ago, on March 5, 2003, thousands of young people in more than 450 high schools and colleges nationwide participated in a Student Strike for Books Not Bombs. The strike was initiated by the National Youth & Student Peace Coalition.
NYSPC is organizing the March 4 “Books Not Bombs” day in solidarity with and as a building block toward the March 20 Global Day of Action Against War & Occupation.
