POWER invited to school
POWER has been invited to speaking to eighth-graders at Peru Washington.
POWER members will facilitate a dialogue regarding tolerance and prejudice. For over eight years, POWER members have visited area grade and high schools to encourage thought and discussion on this topic.
“In my years of working with student groups at IVCC, I have been consistently pleased with the efforts of POWER members to make time in their busy schedules and reach out to the community for a cause they really believe in,” said Kim Abel, nursing instructor and advisor for POWER.
Day for Peace observed
International Day for Peace will be observed Saturday, March 20 on the IVCC campus.
IVCC joins the national organization United for Peace and Justice in marking this as a day of action for peace.

Planning for the event, which is being organized by POWER, is still under way. There will be no cost to the event that is open to all students and community members.
