The men’s tennis team has continued their winning streak by winning their last three matches making their record 9-2.

In the Eagles last match, against Joliet on April 24, the IVCC men won with a score of 6 – 0 despite the game being shortened by the rain.

“We got three matches in and they forfeited three,” said coach Eric Perez. “So we clinched a win there.”

The day before on April 23, they matched up against Knox College, winning the match with a score of 5-4.

“We were down 4-3 with two or three doubles left on the court,” said Perez.

Earlier, the team beat Rock Valley 6-3.

“Besides Knox College they (Rock Valley) are probably the best team we have faced in Illinois. They had won 25 consecutive matches until that Friday, so its kind of gratifying to bring that streak down cause they were threatening our streak at that time.” Perez said.

The Eagles’ coach thinks the IVCC men should do well in regional competition, May 3 and 4 at Harper College.Among the teams the Eagles will face is Elgin, which has a perfect record except for an early season loss to IVCC.
