EDITORIAL: Our fondest farewells
As many of us go our separate ways, we are saddened that an era in our lives is coming to a close. The majority of this years staff will not be returning for the Fall semester.
We look to the future with a sense of uncertainty, yet, a strong conviction to pursue our hopes and dreams. One thing we have striven for on the newspaper staff has been to stand out (in positive ways) and excel at what we do and do it to our best abilities.
We have all learned so much in our short time here at IVCC. We have matured mentally and are now encouraged to think for ourselves and make decisions with little or no supervision. We feel were better thinkers and ready to take on the challenges that are yet to come in life.
The experience of being a member of the newspaper staff has filled us with a sense of pride in our work and has encouraged us to be better students in our studies and our participation in student activities. Knowledge is power. Just knowing what has gone on here in the college atmosphere these past months, made us more attentive to the details of our surroundings.
Without the many members of staff, faculty and students who contributed for our polls, stories and contests, we would not have been able to have a newspaper. We were overwhelmed to see the strong responses, creativity and ideas of everyone to contribute to our new mascot name and newspaper name.
For that, we are indebted.
In closing, wed like to thank everyone who reads our paper.
We hope we have served you well.
