Dear IVy,
When I was in high school, they required us to dress up for graduation. They wouldnt let us wear shorts. Does IVCC have a dress code for graduation.
Michelle
Dear Michelle,
No, there is no code for what graduates are required to wear. Students may wear whatever they please whether it be dress pants and shoes or shorts and tennis shoes.
IVy
Dear IVy,
I called to get an appointment to see a counselor for classes and was told I had to wait until June. Whats up?
Elsie
Dear Elsie,
IVys heard that same complaint from students about counselor appointments for summer and fall schedules. However, IVy called the Counseling Center on April 25 and was given four possible appointments on May 14 and 15. So IVy doesnt know whats up.
IVy
Dear IVy,
While walking to my car, I was almost run over by some a who used the sidewalk to cut from lot #6 to lot #1 with absolutely no regard for the safety of pedestrians. What can be done to keep this from happening?
Alan
Dear Alan,
In such an instance, a student should report it to Safety Services (Lobby/Link) or Bob Marshall, Vice President of Student Services, (C-218) and if possible take note of the cars color, make, model, license plate, distinguishing features or name of the driver.
IVy
Dear IVy,
Why is it that when I am driving to school in the morning, I find myself more worried about surviving the potholes in the parking lots than surviving the tests I didnt prepare for the night before? Is the school ever going to fix this problem and put my mind at ease? Do you think the school will pick up the cost to get my wheels realigned?
AJ
Dear AJ,
I couldnt agree with you more. The potholes, not only in the parking lots, but throughout the campus have sort of become a nuisance and somewhat of death traps. The school board does see this as an issue and is currently seeking bids on the cost to fix this problem.
As far as being reimbursed for your cars realignment, I seriously doubt it. You are, though, welcome to ask students in IVCCs autoshop, who will do realignment depending on their current lessons and providing that the students pick up the cost for the parts.
