Student Government Association members are making plans for a number of spring activities.

A Beach Blanket Drive-In Movie will be presented on April 24 in the east field.

A Soberfest for IVCC students and a program to promote healthy lifestyle for high school students are being scheduled.

SGA advisor Cory Tomasson said the Illinois State Police and local police departments will be on campus one day in the spring with activities to promote safety and prevent drinking and driving.

Tomasson said the SGA is also working with the North Central Behavioral Health System on a program for more than 400 high schools students.

In more recent activities, the SGA sponsored the on campus performance by mentalist Christopher Carter on Feb. 29, and approved a new association of Hispanic students called Alma Latina.

The next SGA meeting is Feb. 19 in C-102.
