Late in the fall, IVCC was forced to cut its budget by 2.1 percent.

At the Nov. 20, 2001 meeting of the college board, Dr. Jean Goodnow, college president, informed the college board that Gov. George Ryan asked all state agencies to cut their budgets to make up for loss of revenue caused by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Goodnow reported that the budget cut results in an $80,000 loss on revenue for IVCC during this fiscal year.

All administrators were asked to tighten expense funds for travel, materials and supplies.

“The 2.1 percent budget cuts were absorbed early,” said Goodnow. “The college now faces the possibility that more cuts will be made in the future, forcing the college to reconsider the budget once more.”
