Frkol to play at U of I - Springfield
Sophomore Nicole Frkol of LaSalle has signed an NAIA National Letter of Intent to play tennis at the University of Illinois at Springfield next season.
"They have a good program and it's not too far from home," Frkol said. "They have a nice coach and nice players."
Frkol joins former IVCC teammate Melissa Poulakos on the Prairie Stars. She plans to major in speech and communications at UIS.
The 5'6" Frkol helped the IVCC women advance to nationals both her freshman and sophomore years. Head coach Steve Crick said Frkol caught UIS's eye in the fall when she defeated the Prairie Stars' No. 2 player.
Frkol played tennis for four years at L-P High School.
