B. Eddie Bauman of Ottawa and Jennifer L. Lischewski of Dalzell have been recognized as members of Phi Theta Kappa's All-Illinois Academic Team.
The students were nominated by IVCC faculty for the honor. They were recognized at a banquet April 24 at Lincoln Land Community College and presented with medals April 25 in the Illinois Capitol Rotunda.
Bauman, whose major is criminal justice, is the Criminal Justice Association president; a columnist for the Apache; a participant in theatre products; member of the Project Success student advisory board; member of the Community Awareness Committee of the 13th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Prevention Council, and volunteer assistant coach of the Shepherd Middle School academic team.
Lischewski, whose major is premedicine, is vice president of the Chemistry Club, a student ambassador, Sigma Kappa Delta secretary, an emergency room volunteer at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, chair of a Christmas party for needy children and a volunteer at an area homeless shelter.
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two year colleges. Students receiving recognition had to earn a minimum of a 3.25 grade point average and exhibit outstanding campus and community involvement for nomination to the All-Academic Team.
