Nearly 400 geology books, donated by the family of the late Leroy E. Becker of Princeton, are being sorted and catalogued on campus.
Geology instructor Mike Phillips is sorting the donation, working in one of the temporary offices in the Counseling Center surrounded by boxes of books.
Phillips said he is selecting books the college can use and the rest are going to the Illinois State Geological Survey to be distributed to geology libraries around the country.
The donation also included "some geology samples well be able to use in class," Phillips said.
Becker was a petroleum geologist who worked in Venezuela for many years.
