After losing their last four games, the Apaches are looking to finish the regular season and move on to the postseason.

IVCC’s most recent game was against Kishwaukee Community College. Despite a 25-point performance by Matt Pusch, the Apaches lost 97-66. The Apaches overall record is 9-20, 2-10 in the Arrowhead Conference.

The Apaches previous losses from Feb. 13 to Feb. 6 came to Sauk Valley Community College (97-62), Highland College (87-57), and a five point loss to Black Hawk College-East (74-69).

Despite IVCC’s current losing steak coach Mike Riley has noticed improvement in some players.

“Matt Pusch is one player who has stepped up in conference play by increased scoring and rebounding,”said Riley. “The addition of Jim Chamberlain has also helped us by scoring 12 to 15 points per game.” said Riley.

The Apaches play February 22 against Joliet Junior College.

“We had a good game against them (Joliet Junior College) last semester.” said Riley.

The Apaches are seeded 8 out of 12 teams in the regional playoffs. IVCC will host Lake County in the first round on Feb. 27. The winner of that game will play No. 1 ranked Waubonsee at Highland in Freeport on March 3.
