Lady Apaches look to remain in contention

As the season is coming to its last month, the Lady Apaches are trying to stay strong. But, unfortunately, that could be a tall order for the Lady Apaches. They have lost three players, two of which are starters.
One of the teams losses is Jamie Kromm. Kromm was injured on Jan. 6 when she re-injured her knee.
She hasnt healed quite as quickly as we had all hoped for, said Steve Crick, head coach of the Lady Apaches. That has definitely hurt us.
The loss of starting center Tiffany Perry and guard Ashley Kneebone to ineligiblity has also hurt the Lady Apaches.
The Lady Apaches have improved their record to 16-5. Their record in the Arrowhead Conference is now 5-1 since their games on Jan. 20 against Rock Valley, Jan. 23 against Saulk Valley and Jan. 25 against Kishwaukee.
The Lady Apaches blew by Rock Valley with the help of Katie Kohr. Kohr was the leading scorer for the Apaches with 19 points.
Sauk Valley didnt have quite as good of a fate as Rock Valley had three days prior. The Lady Apaches struggled throughout the game and couldnt manage to save themselves in a 88-46 loss.
We had a cold shooting night, said Crick. We have an average of 80 points a game and to shoot just under 50 really hurt us.
The Kishwaukee game lifted the teams spirits though with an 83-51 win. The squad broke it open from the beginning by starting off with a 30-0 lead. Jaci Bice was the leading scorer of the game with 18 points. Bice has been a huge asset to the team this season.
Jaci continues to lead us in just about every category, said Crick. Bice has proved her talent by breaking the current school shooting record which was previously held by Rhonda Morell from 1978-1980.
We think we still have a chance in the conference if someone can upset Sauk Valley. I look for it to be an interesting and exciting rest of the season.
