After 30 years as IVCC's cashier, Isabelle Furar is retiring on April 30.

She started on the east campus in 1969, before the present campus was constructed.

"There has been a big turnover in staff, administration," she said, thinking back over the years. "The different types of students make it interesting."

During her time at IVCC, she has served on a number of committees the latest involving implementation of a new computer software system.

What will she do with her time after she retires?

"I plan to take one day at a time and enjoy my family, grandchildren and travel," she said.

Furar and her husband Ron have four children: two daughters living in the Illinois valley, a son, living in Manhattan, and a son in Fort Lauderdale. She and her husband hope to visit both areas of the country.
