College to stay open Friday mornings
During the summer, IVCC will be open on Friday mornings but only to offer enrollment-related services. Classes will continue to be offered Monday through Thursday, and most offices will be open only on those days.
From 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays, one representative each from Admissions/Records, Financial Aid and Counseling will be available. The switchboard will also be staffed and someone will be available to accept payments.
Bob Marshall, vice president of student services said, "Our purpose in extending this service was to provide additional opportunities for students to register for classes."
He said staff would be in the lobby of building C and adjacent offices "so as to not cool other parts of the building."
Staff members, who have been working four ten-hours days in recent years, will cover the Friday hours on a rotating basis, Marshall said.
"As always, we will monitor numbers and evaluate after the summer," he said.
