TRANSFER TALK: Representatives of colleges and universities will be on campus to talk with prospective transfer students on the following dates:

- May 3 -- Eureka, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Representatives will be in the main lobby.

PSYCH ACTIVITIES: Micheal Hylin, Amanda Kennedy and Sarah Benner were inducted into Psi Beta, the national psychology honor society for community college students on May 2, the final meeting for the semester of the honor society and the Psychology Club.

RETURNING STUDENTS NEEDED: The Apache is accepting applications for the 2001-2001 staff. Students are needed for news and sports writing, photography, graphic arts, cartooning, and page editing and design.

"We have great opportunities for next year," advisor Dr. Rose Marie Lynch said. All members of the central editorial staff are sophomores who are transferring in the fall.

All students, part-time and full-time, are eligible; no prior publishing experience is required.

CHEM CLUB EVENTS: The IVCC Chemistry Club is planning and end of year picnic, river testing and a bus trip to a baseball game. The picnic is at 10 a.m. May 16 at Starved Rock. Next year's officers and scholarship recipients will be selected.

The river testing is on May 18. Anyone interested in participating should meet at 8:45 a.m. in the circle drive.

The bus trip to a Cubs vs. Houston game is May 17. The bus will leave campus at 10 a.m. The price of $15 includes a ticket to the game, bus ride and lunch. Anyone interested should sign up with advisor Bob Byrne by May 9.

TAKE BACK NIGHT: Lambda Alpha Epsilon, the criminal justice association, is hosting the annual Take Back the Night March at 6 p.m. May 10. The march will start at the Maude Powell statue in Peru.

COLLEGE AUCTION: The college will hold an auction June 2 starting at 9 a.m.

LAKE CRUISE: A lunch cruise on the Odyssey and tour of Navy Pier are planned for June 19 as an IVCC mini course trip. The cruise on Lake Michigan features live entertainment and a three-course meal. Cost of the trip is $72. A bus will leave the east campus parking lot at 7:30 a.m. and return at about 6:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by May 4 at 224-0447.

RELAY FOR LIFE: IVCC will again host the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life on June 22-23, 2001. Last year 142 teams and 307 cancer survivors participated in the event which raised over $100,000. Two IVCC teams, one from the nursing department and one from the library, participated last year.
