Former football player, Pearson, dies at age 23
Back to Apache home page Former IVCC student Philip Pearson, 23, died following a traffic accident Feb. 24 in East Alton.An Apache football player and member of People of the World End Racism, Pearson was originally from Springfield.
At the time of his death he had just taken a position as a sales representative for a construction equipment firm.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Gross of Indianapolis, Ind.; his foster parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Leonard of Springfield, three brothers, three sisters, two foster brothers, and his fiancee, Shelly Schmitt of Bloomington.
