COUNSELOR CORNER

Dear Counselor:

My boyfriend and I recently broke up and I can’t get over it. I think I’m depressed. I don’t feel like doing anything or going anywhere. I’m missing classes and my grades are starting to drop. My family and friends are concerned about me. Maybe I need some help. I’m embarrassed but I need to talk to someone.

Dear Anonymous:

Call or come to the Counseling Center here on campus now. We can help you through the Personal Counseling Assistance Program (P-CAP), which provides confidential and professional assistance with difficult life issues that may be adversely affecting your college success. It sounds as if your recent break-up is doing just that. You can make an appointment to talk with specially -trained staff. All personal issues discussed with a counselor are confidential. This service is free and your academic status will not be jeopardized in any way. Counselors can also provide referrals to other agencies if needed.

Brochures are available in the Counseling Center. Just mention P-CAP when you make your appointment. In emergencies counselors will make every effort to see a student without an appointment.
