With construction of the LRC-D underway the computer lab has moved to its new temporary home in the basement of the D building, D101.

Project Success has moved to the upper level of the E building to offices E309, E312, and E313 next to the mathematics instructors’ offices, just upstairs from the Counseling Center and down the hall from the Continuing Education Department.

Instructor’s offices that are usually located in the LRC-D, along with the offices of Michelle Story Assistant to Instruction and Lou Caldwell, Foreign Language Instructor, will follow the computers to the lower level, as will the Career Service Center.

The move is temporary and is expected to be completed by April 17, said Larry Rousey, Director of Physical Plant.

Construction is to then begin on the A building for the new Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning (HVAC) system to be installed. A new roof and asbestos removal is also scheduled for the A building to take place concurrently.

Instructors’ offices there are to then be moved to the Counseling Center, where construction of the temporary offices have been going on since the beginning of the spring semester, with the walls to be installed in mid-April.

All instructors’ telephone extension numbers are to remain the same throughout the move.

Plans for refurbishing the baseball field are also underway by the IVCC grounds and maintenance staff.

Rousey said that all of the supplies for the work are on order. At press time, construction was scheduled to take place over spring break with a cost just under $10,000.

"Weather permitting, we’re going to have a very playable field for the season," said Rousey.
