Paul Liddle of Paxton has taken over management of the college cafeteria. His job at IVCC is his first full time position since he went blind seven years ago.

On Dec. 16 he completed training through the Illinois Center of Rehabilitation and Education in Chicago. As a part of the training, he worked in cafeterias and gift shops in the Chicago area, including the cafeteria at Prairie State Community College in Chicago Heights.

Before losing his sight, Liddle has worked in private business, and then he spent 13 years as a teacher at Chicago Vocational and the Montifori Special School, a school for troubled boys. He mostly taught electronics and electricity although he also taught woodworking.

Liddle works for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services which leases the cafeteria from the college. He replaces Mike Boldrey, who served as the interim manager before Liddle was hired.
