IVCC doors locked during winter for safety
By Randa Anthony
Winter on the IVCC campus does not only mean a long, freezing walk to the main building, but also a long walk through the corridors to get to classes within the building. The doors to the interior courtyard have been locked.
The locks to each door excluding one adjacent to the cafeteria have been specifically block students and faculty alike from reentering the building after the door has closed.
Director of Physical Plant, Larry Rousey said that the doors have been locked for everyones safety.
"We try to eliminate any risk of injury from anyone falling on the ice and snow."
Rousey also said, "Its hard trying to keep the building heated properly, and people tend to want to prop those doors open."
