Four students have filed petitions for the eight Student Government Association positions to be filled in elections April 6 and 7.
Angela Brown and Chauntelle Biagi are running for president, Kristin Nienaber is unopposed for vice president, and Jacob Frost is unopposed for student trustee.
Remaining open, to be filled by write-in votes or appointed by the SGA, are the positions of secretary, treasurer, sophomore representative and two sophomore programming board members.
Polls will be open in the main lobby from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the two days.
All students are eligible to vote.Following the election,
there is a week which is called the transitional period in which new officers are introduced to outgoing officers, said SGA advisor Cory Tomasson. The outgoing and incoming officers meet for a dinner and exchanging of ideas. The incoming officers are introduced to their job responsibilities."Immediately the new people have authority," Tomasson said.
The outgoing members are asked to stay around to help out new officers. But it is not required. They have no voice in issues voted on by the new officers, Tomasson said.
Students who have filed for office completed an Apache questionnaire and were asked to submit a photo
