More than 100 employers will be on campus April 20 for the Celebration of Jobs, IVCCs job fair.
The employers will be available in the main gymnasium from 8 a.m. to noon. to discuss full-time and part-time jobs and internships.
"What an opportunity to walk into one room and be able to interview with over 100 employers," said John Marzetta, director of the Career Service Center. "It would take you years of sending out resumes to get even one-fourth of that many interviews."
Marzetta advised students to be aware that employers are looking for:
- a neat and professional resume and cover letter
- good interview skills, what to say and what not to say
- professional dress and good hygiene
- strengths in attendance, attitude, communication and basic math.
"You must sell yourself in order to get an offer," Marzetta said.
Booklets on interviewing and writing job papers are available in the Career Service Center, and appointments can be made for more help, Marzetta said.
Last year more than 2,500 students and area citizens attended the fair.
