Candidate for Student Trustee

Age: 19

High School: Princeton

Major: Political science

1. Past-current experience in IVCC activities.

After this semester, I will have completed 37 credit hours at IVCC.

2. Past-current experience in student government.

In addition to having been involved in the student council at Princeton High School, I am participating in Student Government as Freshman Representative of IVCC this year. I have been regularly attending monthly Illinois Board of Higher Education Student Advisory Committee meetings as an alternate voting representative for IVCC.

3. Why running for SGA?

I am running for the SGA because I would like to represent the IVCC students’ best interests. I intend on being aware of student needs and wishes, as well as attending to these matters with alacrity and good judgment.

4. Why running for that office?

The Student Trustee position is an integral part of student communication with administration. Therefore, it is of importance to have a dedicated spokesperson with the ability to communicate, interpret, and act on issues of relevance to the student. Without the student, there would be no need for the college.

7. Any suggestions for getting students more involved in campus life?

In that light, I would encourage students who have ideas on how to improve the educational experience offered at IVCC to contact any member of the SGA during our regularly scheduled office hours in room C-103.
