Using their diverse backgrounds and powerful ability to blend rap and metal element, Sevendust has made an everlasting impression on the metal genre of the future.

The band had "really good timing," said drummer Morgan Rose.

"Back then there was no competition. It was us, Coal Chamber and Limp Bizkit," Rose continued.

"We had a lot of luck with our first album," he said.

"Our record label’s radio department pushed to put our music on the radio."

"All of the sudden bands like Godsmack, System of a Down, Slipknot, Stained, POD and Kittie were coming on the scene," Rose explained.

"So, it helped that we got radio airplay on the first record," he said.

"We kind of pushed the market into the right direction."

The band’s self-titled debut album won a number of induawards like "Best Metal Album."

With songs like "Black" and "Too Close to Hate" the band has established an artistic and visual identity.

MTV’s TRL phone lines have been burning up with requests for videos of Sevendust’s "Denial" and "Waffle."

While touring with Creed, Sevendust has had the opportunity to perform with Ozzy Osborne, Metallica, Korn, Snot and the Red Hot Chili Pepper.

The band claims to know a thing or two about "touring, touring, touring," said Rose.

"We toured for something like 21 months straight," Rose commented.

"We hit Chicago and New York at least 12 times during the tour for the first record," he continued.

"I remember we came to New York for the 13th time and we were playing "Black."

"I looked to the sold-out venue and wondered, ‘Why are you here?’"

"‘We had one record and you heard it 12 times already!"’

Sevendust also has a confirmation to play "Tattoo: The Earth Tour" with Slipknot, Coal Chamber and Drown.
