1999 graduates of the Dental Assisting Program scored above the national average in the Dental Assisting National Board Exam.

Of the eight graduates who choose to take the voluntary exam, seven earned the Certified Dental Assistant credential by passing all three sections of the exam, and the remaining graduate passed two of the three sections.

"I am very proud of these graduates and their performance on this national exam," said program director Pat Pearson.

PROGRAM ACCREDITED

Pearson has also been notified that the Dental Assisting Program has been accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

The accreditation followed an evaluation of the program that required Pearson and other IVCC staff members to prepare and submit detailed reports about the program and a site visit by a team from the Commission.
