The computer lab temporarily located in the lower level of the D building is being scheduled to move back to its original location in the LRC-D.
The move is scheduled to take place around graduation time so the instructors offices of the A building can be moved into the lower level swing space of D.
The A building is to undergo construction for a new Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning (HVAC) system along with a new roof and asbestos removal.
More offices for the A building are to be erected on the east half of the counseling center beginning after final exams, and will remain there temporarily through the summer while the construction is being completed.
Larry Rousey, director of physical plant, said that the construction that had originally been estimated to take a year had been reduced to a timeline of three months.
Rousey also said that the project had been estimated to cost $4.5 million, but that the Board of Trustees approved an offer on March 24 from Pepper Construction that guaranteed a maximum cost of just over $2.4 million.
The college wanted the construction to progress without any interruption to the students. Because of the utilization of the available spaces on campus, that is a realistic and attainable goal, said Rousey.
