RIVER CURRENTS: River Currents, IVCCs literary magazine, will be published during finals and will be available in Apache newspaper racks throughout campus. The 72-page magazine will include work by Edward Vasquez, Linda Tri, Tony Gruenwald, Brandi Conley, Carrie Bauer, Ken Schroeder, Jennifer Nagle, Adam Smith, Sarah Tintori, Andy Evans, Erin Peters and Tara Lyones, with cover art by Becca Heuer.
Anyone interested in submitting work for next year’s issue or serving on the River Currents staff should contact Geoff Schmidt at 224-0325 or Kim Radek at 224-0395.
HIGH SCHOOL ART: Works by district high school art students will be on display in the Cultural Centre link from May 1 through May 12. The public is invited to attend a reception on May 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the link.
SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY: Scholarships offered through the Humanities and Fine Arts Division will be awarded at a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. May 2 in the Fireplace Lounge.
PICASSO LECTURE: David Starks will lecture on "Picasso and the Cubist Legacy" at 7 p.m. May 10 in the Fireplace Lounge. The program is co-sponsored by the Heritage corridor Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago. Admission is $10.
WOODLAND EXPO: The Illinois Valley Woodland Expo is scheduled for July 22 and 23 on the IVCC campus.
