IVCC’s Tech Prep team has won another Connections 2000 Award from the Illinois State Board of Education.

The award is for the Integrated Module Project which encourages instructors to teach lessons in each other’s classes.

"The main idea of the project is to demonstrate that subjects are related," said co-team leader Dr. Rose Marie Lynch. "In the business and industry world, English is not something you do at 9 a.m."

Lynch and co-team leader Dorene Perez will be at the Connections 2000 Conference in St. Charles, Ill., April 20-21 to accept the award on behalf of the Tech Prep team. The award includes $200 to be used for the project.

The team leaders have also been asked to speak at the conference.

This is the second Connections 2000 Award the Integrated Module Project, now seven years old, has won. Two other Tech Prep projects, Making Industry Meaningful in College and the Day Care Camp have also won Connections Awards.
