  Nine student-led companies will be selling products they designed and produced on April 14 at a fair on campus.

The MIMIC EXPO ‘99 will be culmination of a semester-long project that has teamed students in engineering design, electronics, business, marketing, accounting and information systems.

The products include:

* Can Slam Alarm Clock produced by the Millennium Group

* Lited Cube by Brite Lite

* Key Chain Lite by Chain Gang

* Candle Illuminator by BeefCake Industries

* Light Bright by Lite Brite Illumination Technology

* Night Blaster by A Shot in the Dark

* CD Clock by Nextime

* Incoming Buzzer by KB Mat

* Lighted potpourri by Common Scents, Inc.

Student Sheila Kuhlemeyer, one of the fair organizers, said, "You won’t want to miss this year’s, last year of the century, MIMIC fair."

The student companies are the result of Making Industry Meaningful in College, a Tech Prep project designed to give students real-world experience.

Students in business-related fields are enrolled in a MIMIC course and work under the supervision of accounting instructor Alice Steljes. Electronics students are supervised by Jim Gibson, and engineering design students by Dorene Perez.
