The I-READ Literacy Program on campus will be conducting volunteer tutor training sessions on March 15, 17 and 22 from 6 to 9 p.m.
New volunteers will participate in the nine-hour orientation which will include observation in an adult learning lab.
The volunteers will then be matched with adult learners age 16 and over who are reading or computing below the ninth-grade level.
One-on-one sessions between student and tutor are scheduled once a week at local libraries. Instruction is also available at adult learning lab sites both on campus and throughout the district.
