SGA discusses possible tuition increase

At the Feb. 11 Student Government Association meeting, Dr. Robert Marshall, Vice-President of Student Services, spoke to SGA about a possible tuition increase. As of press time, it is not known when the decision will be put to the Board of Trustees.

SGA members will be discussing the possible increase at the Feb. 28 meeting at 12:15 p.m. in C-103.

Marshall said he wanted to get some input from the SGA about what the students think.

In other business, the SGA discussed the intramural survey which was headed by President Jeff Twardowski and results tallied by Programming Board member Holli L. Rapp,

Survey results were given to Athletic Director Mike Riley, and two intramurals are currently being started, a chess tournament and a 3 on 3 basketball league.

Forms are available in the athletic director’s office, or by contacting any SGA member.

Other items on the agenda included granting the Day of Writing $200 for a speaker and prizes, and requesting that a clock be placed in the Cultural Centre link.

Upcoming events include

a SoberFest on campus April 13 and 14. State police will be offering their services free, including a video, sobriety test, obstacle course, and pamphlets.

a high-energy game show, including a cash cube on March 17. It, which will be in the cafeteria from noon to 1p.m

an M-4 Flight Simulator,

SGA elections on April 9 and 10. Offices to be filled nclude President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sophomore Rep, and 2 Sophomore Programming Board Positions. Anyone wishing to run should contact the SGA office in C-103 or #247, or contact advisor Cory Tomasson.

At the Jan. 28 meeting, the Students in Free Enterprise group was approved as an official student organization.
