The Student Government Association has a whole new look.

In elections held April 8 and 9, seven officers were elected to serve through next year.

Jason Wertz of Spring Valley was elected president; John Pfundstein of Princeton was elected vice president; Courtney Denton of Ottawa was elected secretary; Ruth Irwin of Spring Valley was elected sophomore representative; and Mindy Maher of Peru was elected to the sophomore programming board. They all ran unopposed in an election in which 281 total votes were cast.

Tony Nevicosi was elected treasurer, a position for which no one filed, with 123 write-in votes. Lori McCollum was elected to the second sophomore programming board position with 29 write-in votes, also a position for which no one filed.

At press time, the SGA was meeting to appoint a student trustee. Elizabeth Zelenski had originally filed for the post, but she withdrew her petition before the election. Amy Borostowski was elected with 112 votes, but later declined the position.

The new president, vice president and student trustee will receive tuition waivers next year as a result of the Trustee Leadership Waivers approved by the College Board at its April 19 meeting.
