46 compete in writing competition

By Kristin Carpenter

On Feb. 25, 46 high school students from eleven participating schools competed in the 14th annual writing competition on campus.

For the competition, sponsored by the Humanities and Fine Arts Division, district high schools were invited to send three seniors to compete in two categories, essay and journalism.

"The main purpose of the competition is for the students to recognize the importance of their writing," said Randy Rambo, English instructor who organized the contest.

The winners will receive scholarships and will be recognized at an awards ceremony in May.
