Geology students rock and roll

By Staci J. Sessler

On April 9, eight Geology 109 students set out for a five hour drive towards southern Illinois with instructor Mike Phillips for the annual field trip.

The group, consisting of Molly Martuzzo, Michelle Fusinetti, Staci Sessler, Theresa Massat, Brandon Dyer, Adam Burke , Jake Henkel, and Brian Mumm, spent three days looking at rock formations and searching for fossils.

Saturday the group joined the Illinois Geological Survey Field Trip for a short time.

Monday before heading back to campus, they toured the Geology Department at SIUC, and then went to Illinois Caverns State Park to explore the cave.
